Freelance workers can now apply for a UAE Visa Online

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) in the UAE recently made an announcement that will benefit freelancers seeking virtual work residence visas. Freelance workers can now apply for a UAE visa online. Applying for the visa no longer requires physical presence in the UAE. Freelancers can conveniently apply online.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Government now offers a virtual work residence visa, allowing individuals to work remotely from outside of the country. The application process can be completed online using the ICP’s website or UAEICP smart application.

The visa is valid for one year and can be renewed under revised terms and conditions set by the UAE government. Once approved, applicants have 60 days to enter the UAE to complete their residence visa application. If this time limit is exceeded, the permit will become invalid.

But, in order to qualify, the freelancer must present a bank statement demonstrating earnings of at least Dh360,000 over the previous two years, or the equivalent amount in another currency. A preceding month's pay stub and three months' worth of bank statements are also required of applicants.

After 30 days, if a candidate doesn't satisfy the conditions, their application is automatically rejected online. The price and financial assurances are recoverable if the request is denied by the ICP and the application is returned three times for the same reason, it is vital to remember.

Each participant in the virtual working program must pay AED 350. The entry permission and all the information will be sent to each applicant's email.
